This is the first of our monthly updates to our neighbors regarding the renovation of the Union Avenue property to house our middle school, beginning in the fall of 2021.
The project is on schedule and demolition is now complete, so there should be no more big noise activity for now. In the next month we will be:
•
installing sewer, storm and water lines
•
doing a bit more grading
•
building a temporary road for the really big crane we’ll need later
The bulk of the noise-generating activities closest to the residential homes is done until the concrete slab is poured and cures to allow erecting the classroom building. The steel for that building will arrive in August, which is when the building will begin going up. During the first two weeks of August we will be doing crane work to erect the beams, which will result in some temporary sightlines into the back yards of immediately adjacent neighbors. Our workers will be focused on their work and respecting neighbor privacy, but we wanted you to be aware. That work will be noisy, however it should only last for about a month.
We thank you for your understanding and patience through our construction phase. We invite you to email communications@harker.org with any questions or requests. For immediate concerns, call our construction hotline (Mon.-Fri. from 7 a.m. to 5 p.m.) at 408.510.8035.
Thank you, and take care,
