Do you know 125 Fun Facts about Harker?

Harker weekend boarders ran the Harker Cafe each Sunday. Kids took orders over the counter, cooked (under supervision, of course) and served. A specialty was amazing fried rice. Faculty even came in occasionally to enjoy the great food, service and company!

Watch for a great article on the former boarding program in the next issue of Harker Magazine, in mailboxes in December!

125th Anniversary Memories

I was always on campus weekends as my mother, who lived in Palo Alto, traveled for the government. For five extra merit points I could compete for Relief Orderly. His job was to close gates and check doors. This little competition taught me a lot of military trivia. From this knowledge, I won the Drill Down medal, then next year I became the ranking non-commissioned officer and graduated as Senior Master Sergeant.
