This day is a chance to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. King with activities hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and the community service and student activities coordinators. It is designed to encourage the Harker community of students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and friends of Harker to answer this question posed by Dr. King:
“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?”
Plan to Participate!
If you have already expressed interest in participating in an activity at the upper school campus, thank you! We have received 200 participants and have closed sign-ups for that location. If your plans have changed and you are no longer able to participate, please contact diversity@harker.org so that we can make note of this change. We are at capacity so if you cannot participate, we want to open the opportunity to others.
There are still many activities to choose from, and there are many morning and afternoon shifts at Second Harvest Food Bank still available. Check out this link for all the information on activities and how to register for them.

Martin Luther King Jr. Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national Day of Service. Begun in 1994, the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service has continued to grow, encouraging Americans to volunteer and make an impact in their communities.
