Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service
Mon., Jan. 15, 2024
Martin Luther King Jr. Day is the only federal holiday designated as a national Day of Service. Begun in 1994, the Martin Luther King Jr. Day of Service has continued to grow, encouraging Americans to volunteer and make an impact in their communities.

New Tradition: Harker’s Day of Service

Harker’s Day of Service is Mon., Jan. 15. This new tradition is a chance to commemorate the life and legacy of Dr. King with activities hosted by the Office of Diversity, Equity and Inclusion, and the community service and student activities coordinators. It is designed to encourage the Harker community of students, faculty, staff, alumni, parents and friends of Harker to answer this question posed by Dr. King:

“Life’s most persistent and urgent question is: What are you doing for others?”
