New Lower and Middle School Uniforms! Harker is pleased to announce that we are introducing a new, updated school uniform line with Tommy Hilfiger School Uniforms. The school spent a year researching other schools nationwide and holding parent focus groups at the lower and middle schools to arrive at the best solutions for Harker. We think you will love the new look and the new options! Though this will only affect our lower and middle school families, we wanted you all to be aware of this exciting new change, so are sending this email to all our families. Why change uniforms? As Harker begins celebrating the completion of its 125th year in 2018-19, the school felt it was a perfect opportunity to update our uniforms and provide convenient online ordering options. The Tommy Hilfiger line has many advantages: • It allows us to bring the uniform back to our school color, green. • We can have a fresh start for a cohesive look between lower and middle schools. • We get competitive pricing and great quality clothes. • Purchasing is easy and all online via Tommy Hilfiger’s custom Harker website (launching April 23). • And, as a bonus, Tommy Hilfiger will kickback 10 percent of all sales to Harker’s general endowment! When does this go into effect? The new uniform policy will begin in the 2018-19 school year, and it will be applicable for students in K-8. You may begin ordering on April 23. Families will have one year to transition to the new uniform. During this time the old uniform and new uniform pieces will both be acceptable. What does the new uniform look like? The dress code information for the lower school and the middle school are available via the resources tool in the parent portal. How do I size and purchase the new uniform? All the required school uniform items will be available online at our Eagle Store. To help you find the perfect sizes for your student, we will have all the items available at fitting sessions from April 23-May 25 at the middle school front office. • Mondays and Fridays from 3:30 to 5 p.m. • Wednesdays from 8-8:30 a.m. • Wednesdays from 3:15-5 p.m. Please reserve your fitting session time. We will provide you with the following when you appear for your fitting: • Fit guides to help your student try on the perfect size. • A size card, so you can record the size and style for your student for ordering online later. To order, follow the Guide to Order sheet, which will be available on the resources tool on April 23. We are sure you’ll find this new uniform stylish, affordable and easy to purchase.
