The Harker School’s business & entrepreneurship department is proud to introduce The Harker Incubator, one of the first high school incubator programs in the country, and we are seeking your support. The Harker Incubator provides student entrepreneurs with a seed grant, professional mentorship, and startup curriculum to develop and grow their startups.
We have accepted two Harker student companies for our inaugural year’s program: Xpress Chef and The Minty Boutique. Xpress Chef is an online marketplace that provides a more personalized and economic alternative to the personal chef industry by bringing it into the “sharing economy.” The Minty Boutique produces artistic stationery supplies with a specialty in hand-crafted pins and clips, and is ramping up for significant online and offline growth.
We are seeking industry professionals who would like to support our student entrepreneurs in one of two ways:
|
Ideal mentors are local to the Silicon Valley and available to provide strategic advice and guidance during the program (July 24 – Aug. 4). We are seeking accomplished entrepreneurs, tech professionals in the sharing economy or online marketplaces, digital marketing and social media strategists, and/or consumer product manufacturing and retailing experts.
|
Ideal investor judges are local VC or angel investors available to judge the investor pitch event on Aug. 4. While there is certainly no financial obligation, we are seeking judges who would be receptive to donating to or investing in the students’ companies should they demonstrate promise.
If you or someone in your network is interested volunteering as a professional mentor or investor judge, please reach out to the Harker Incubator faculty advisor, Michael Acheatel, at michael.acheatel@harker.org or 619.977.4699.
Thank you for your consideration!
