Harker families, get involved in our Earth Month activities!
Here’s what parents can do to join in on our collective mission to be responsible and sustainable:

1. Participate in our clothing drives (scroll down for details).
2. Sign up for plastic films recycling pickup through Ridwell. Learn what plastic films are and sign up.
3. Read on to see what your kids are up to!

Thank you for your support – both at school and at home – of our community’s passionate sustainability efforts.

CLOTHING DRIVES
Do you know that textiles account for 10% of global waste and 20% of water use each year? Help the environment and repurpose your gently used clothing by giving it a new home through the lower, middle and upper school clothing swaps! (All clothing and shoes should be clean and in good shape.)

Upper School: Donations now through April 18 in the marked boxes in front of the RPAC and at the end of Main Hall (the back drop-off area). Teen and adult sizes only; no child sizes, please.
Swap: April 22-24
Parents, volunteer at the upper school!
Middle School: Donations from April 7-25 in the marked boxes in the front office and back parking loop. Child, teen and adult sizes.
Swap: Week of April 28-May 2
Parents, volunteer at the middle school!
Lower School: Your child can bring up to five clean, gently used clothing items to the gym lobby. (Please, no school uniforms or Harker swag.)
Swap: April 23-25 between 7:45-9 a.m. and 3:15-4:30 p.m.
We need a few parent volunteers to help with this event. Please email keizenlifeblog@gmail.com if you are interested.
Additional Note: If you have other textiles or materials you’d like to recycle, support the Muwekma Ohlone Green Education Fund by bringing things to their boxes at these locations. (All items unclaimed at our swaps will be delivered to their drop-off.)
