Don’t forget: Taylor Eigsti’s concert is next Thursday, Oct. 18!
To celebrate Harker’s 125th anniversary year – and the recent opening of our stunning new Rothschild Performing Arts Center – we are offering special anniversary ticket prices. We welcome you to enjoy a night out at Harker!
Tickets are $25 per concert for adults, and $15 for students/seniors. We will host a reception one hour prior to each performance so you can mingle with your friends. Complimentary hors d’oeuvres and soft drinks are included, and there’s a cash bar for wine and beer.
Since being called “the most amazing talent I’ve ever come across” by Dave Brubeck when Eigsti was a child, the Bay Area-born, two-time Grammy nominee has become a highly sought-after performer and sideman in the jazz community worldwide. The long list of jazz luminaries that Eigsti has performed and recorded with includes not only Brubeck, but contemporaries such as Joshua Redman, Nicholas Payton and Chris Botti. As a composer, he has worked with the San Jose Chamber Orchestra, New York Philharmonic, Oakland East Bay Symphony and many more.
Joining Eigsti for this concert will be saxophonist and longtime friend Dayna Stephens, who ranked number two in the “Rising Star – Tenor Saxophone” category in the 2017 DownBeat Critics Poll. Stephens’ 2017 album, “Gratitude” was also praised by DownBeat as “highly cinematic listening experience,” and his career as a performer has included live and studio work with greats such as Wayne Shorter, Ambrose Akinmusire and Carlos Santana. Rounding out the quartet will be drummer Jason Lewis and bassist Zach Ostroff.
