Fall Textbook Purchase & Buy-Back Coming Soon

Below you’ll find all the instructions you need for purchasing books and participating in the buy-back.

Buy-Back How-To
Step 1: Visit the MBS Direct website by going to the main Harker Parent Portal page and clicking on the blue tile called “Bookstore.” Once on the MBS page, click “menu” and then click “Sell Your Textbooks” and log in to your MBS account. (If you do not have an MBS account because you’ve never purchased from them, you can create an account at this point.) Enter your all your books’ ISBN numbers in the big blue box, click on “Price Your Books” and you will be told whether your books are available for buy-back. You may enter the ISBN numbers of any books, even ones you did not purchase from MBS. You will then receive a quote that guarantees your buy-back price for any approved books. You MUST bring a copy of this quote with you when you drop off the books.

Step 2: You can either send your approval certificate and book(s) back to MBS directly (a UPS label will be provided by MBS), or bring them to our Buy-Back Drop-Off Day, where Harker will collect your textbooks and send them to MBS (see next paragraph for more on that). However you choose to return your books, you will either receive a check from MBS, or you may have your amount credited via PayPal, which can take up to four weeks. Please remember that this day is set up as a convenience for Harker families to drop off textbooks that MBS has agreed to purchase back from you.

MBS Direct Rental Textbook Returns
Rentals are not to be dropped off with the books that you are selling back to MBS Direct. Rentals need to be sent back directly to MBS as it is a different location than where buy-backs are processed. Please look for an email from MBS Direct as to where to send your rental books back. MBS Direct will provide a shipping label to send the books back.
