Dear Harker Families,

We look forward to another year with you, and continuing to guide your child’s educational journey. The Harker admission team will be sending you your 2020-21 re-enrollment contract next week in an email from our new enrollment software, Ravenna; please keep an eye out for this email. Also, we are pleased to note that this coming year lunch will be included in tuition for K-5, as it has been for many years for middle and upper school.

It is our privilege and an honor to bring out the best in children at Harker each and every day. Our mission is to motivate, challenge and inspire all of our students in academics, extracurricular interests and their personal development to help them be the best that they can be. We are especially humbled to know that we are carrying on a mission that started more than 125 years ago. While one school, each of our divisions plays a special role in the life of our students.

We continue preparing for our exciting move of the middle school to our Union Ave. campus. As you know, construction will begin in June. We remain hopeful that our TK program will operate at the Union campus next year. However, we have to wait until our construction plans are approved before we request permission for TK to remain on the Union campus. As this approval continues to be drawn out at the city planning department, we are also making plans, should it be necessary, to relocate TK to the Blackford campus next year. We will update you on the status of the planning process in the coming months. We should know by April if we need to move TK, and we will fill you in on the details at that point. Regardless of the location, we anticipate the same program we currently have, with teachers who currently work in TK and at the preschool. (A fun fact is that TK-grade 8 was together on the original Saratoga Ave. campus for many years. Many of our teachers and alumni remember those fun days!) These are exciting, historic times for Harker, and for your family, and we appreciate your support and flexibility.

Your tuition, along with the generous philanthropy of our community, covers our rich and varied academic and curricular offerings, enrichment and supervision from 7 a.m. to 6 p.m., our outstanding food service, highly qualified nursing and counseling services, robust libraries, well-trained and caring security, and so much more. As we continue to deliver the excellence you expect in our programs, we are so honored to have your family with us.

Wishing you all a wonderful 2020!

Sincerely,
