Dear Parents:
Welcome to a new school year. Many parents have enjoyed and benefited from Common Ground Parent Speaker Series presentations in previous school years. This year, there is once again a wonderful lineup of speakers. The 2018-19 presentations are:
“Duct Tape Parenting: Step Back so Kids Can Step Up” with Vicki Hoefle
“Don’t Hurry, Be Happy: Parenting in a Fast-Paced World” with Carl Honoré
“Changing Bodies, Changing Times: Laying the Groundwork for Healthy Relationships” with Justine Fonte MEd, MPH
“Screensmart: Best Practices for Media-Wise Families” Michael Rich, MD, MPH & Manoush Zomorodi
The first Common Ground presentation of the year – “Duct Tape Parenting: Step Back so Kids Can Step Up” with Vicki Hoefle – is on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 9:30 a.m. at St. Andrew’s Episcopal School, located at 13601 Saratoga Ave. in Saratoga. Vicki Hoefle will also present on Tuesday, Sept. 25 at 7 p.m. at Woodside Elementary, located at 3195 Woodside Road in Woodside.

Please note that “Changing Bodies, Changing Times: Laying the Groundwork for Healthy Relationships” with Justine Fonte MEd, MPH will be held at The Harker School. This presentation will take place on Jan. 30 at 9:30 a.m. at our middle school campus.

All Common Ground Speaker Series events are free of charge to parents of member schools. Since The Harker School is a member school, parents need only come to the event and identify themselves as Harker parents. No RSVP is necessary. Non-member guests are welcome to attend for $20 at the door. Light refreshments are available 30 minutes prior to each event. Speakers’ books, if applicable, are available for purchase in cooperation with Books Inc.
